Welcome to the new website for the Marin County Human Rights Commission.
“The Commission’s mission is to promote a community based on social justice, with equality for all, and to eliminate discrimination based on race, religion, color, age, ancestry, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, place of birth, national origin, or disability. To this end the Commission shall provide a public forum, serve as a resource to the community, and advise the Board of Supervisors on human rights issues.”
One way we support our mission is to serve as a community resource for information on human rights, and to publicly communicate on human rights issues and events in Marin County. We currently do this in the monthly public meetings we hold. We believe we can further support this effort by providing a centralized place online for the residents of Marin County to learn about human rights issues, get updates, access resources, and facilitate connections to organizations that are on the ground working on a range of issues to make Marin County better for all people. This is the aim and purpose of our new website.
We look forward to adding more content and resources over time, bringing more awareness to the issues and the great work being done by so many throughout the county to solve them, as well as continuing to hear from and engage with the community — now both offline and online.
